Dear Vickers Families,
With the increase in walkers this yearโespecially among our younger studentsโwe need everyoneโs help to make sure dismissal is safe and orderly. In the past, Pre-K and Kinder students were not allowed to be walkers unless they had an older sibling. We would like to continue to provide this option, but we must all follow safety procedures because student safety always comes first.
Please keep these important reminders in mind:
Pre-K, Kinder, and 1st grade walkers must have an adult meet them at the crosswalk unless they are walking with an older sibling.
Parents must always use the crosswalk when meeting their child. Jaywalking is unsafe with the heavy traffic around campus and puts students at risk.
If you are waiting for your child, please wait at the sidewalk or crosswalkโnot in the grassy areas or under the treesโso students can stay in their dismissal lines and avoid confusion.
Victoria Police Department will be assisting us to ensure the crosswalk is used properly and all students remain safe.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep every Vickers student safe!
