On November 16, just before our students eagerly headed off for their well-deserved Fall Break, elementary campuses gathered together to conclude the exhilarating Kickball season with a thrilling set of playoffs and an unforgettable championship game. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the DeLeon Dragons faced off against the Schorlemmer Bears and the Vickers Lions battled the Torres Tigers in the gripping semi-finals.
In an intense showdown, DeLeon triumphed over Schorlemmer, and Vickers emerged victorious against Torres, securing their spots in the championship match. The championship game was nothing short of a nail-biter, with Vickers ultimately prevailing over DeLeon in a heart-pounding 2-1 victory that extended into extra innings. The resilience and sportsmanship displayed by all the teams were truly commendable.
A resounding congratulations goes out to the Vickers Lions, our elementary Kickball champions! Your hard work, dedication, and teamwork have paid off, and we couldn't be prouder of your achievement.
We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the individuals who made this season possible. Coach Kolle and the East coaches, thank you for taking the time to come out and umpire the games on that thrilling night. Your expertise and fair officiating added to the excitement of the competition. Special thanks go to Coach Kolle and Coach Molinaro for sending your players to umpire the kickball games throughout the season. Your support and involvement have been invaluable, and we appreciate your commitment to our young athletes.
Last, but certainly not least, we want to express our deep appreciation to Athletic Director Spencer Gantt, who made Kickball a reality for our elementary schools. Your vision and dedication to promoting sports and teamwork among our students are truly commendable. Witnessing the sheer joy and excitement on the faces of our kids during last night's championship game was a testament to the positive impact Kickball has had on our community.
