The Victoria Independent School District Board of Trustees has named Ms. Sheila Collazo as the finalist for Superintendent of Schools during a Board Meeting on October 17th. Ms. Collazo currently serves as the Deputy Superintendent for the Somerset ISD, near San Antonio, Texas. She has served in this position for the past 8 years. Her work at Somerset ISD helped garner the district an “A” rating in the Texas Accountability System. She was also previously an Administrator for the Education Service Center, Region 20, an Executive Director at South San Antonio ISD, and served as an Instructional Coordinator and as a teacher at Fox Tech High School at San Antonio ISD.
Ms. Collazo holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science degree in Education from Texas A&M University—Kingsville.
Ms. Collazo has a proven and successful track record as an educator and is passionate about student success. She strongly believes in public education and high standards for students.

The Board is expected to offer Ms. Collazo a contract for employment after the state-required 21-day waiting period.
