The Victoria ISD Child Nutrition Department is thrilled to announce that all students at all VISD campuses will be eating free for the 2024-25 school year as part of our Community Eligibility Program (CEP).
The Community Eligibility Program (CEP) is a federal initiative that allows schools and districts in low-income areas to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students, eliminating the need for income surveys. This program ensures that every child has access to nutritious meals, helping to improve student health and academic performance by reducing food insecurity and providing balanced meals.
From breakfast to lunch, VISD meals feature delicious proteins, whole grains, abundant fruits and vegetables, and nutrition-packed milk. Research shows that better nutrition leads to better performance in academics and other activities. By providing free meals to all students, VISD is committed to supporting student success and well-being.
