The Victoria ISD Communications Department is accepting applications for its first-ever VISD Insider Academy, a four-week educational program that will provide VISD-zoned residents with an inside look at your public school district and show you how to get involved!
Have you ever wondered how our school district makes big decisions, or how they plan what you learn every day? VISD Insider Academy, a brand new innovative program is a call to action for VISD parents, guardians, and family members to learn more about public education and your public school district.
“We are so thrilled to introduce the VISD Insider Academy. This program offers a unique opportunity for our community to gain a deeper understanding of our district's operations and educational initiatives,” Executive Director of Communications & Public Relations Ashley Scott said. “We believe that by fostering transparency and collaboration, we can empower everyone to play a role in shaping the future of education in Victoria ISD."
The VISD Insider Academy will consist of four engaging sessions, to be hosted over four Tuesdays beginning April 16 and ending May 7, 2024, from 5:30 to 7 P.M. at various VISD facilities. A fifth session will be available for a facilities tour. VISD Administrators will share presentations on governance and leadership, curriculum, finance and operations, and communications and student services.
There is no cost to register. Space is limited to 30 applicants. Those interested are encouraged to apply as soon as possible at www.visd.net/insideracademy. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory, and participants must reside within VISD-zoned boundaries. Participants will be notified via email by April 3, 2024.
Those who complete and attend all sessions of the VISD Insider Academy will be awarded a certificate and recognized at the May Regular School Board Meeting.
